On 27. September, 1981, Kiss lip-synced “Charisma” and “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” on the tv show Aplausos, Canal 13, and was interviewed by Jimmy Forson, which was divided into five programs that aired October 12–16, 1981. Each day opened with two songs from “Inner Sanctum” (an Australian TV special from 1980, featuring footage from the Unmasked tour including the Sydney concert on November 22, 1980), advertisements, interview, commercial ads and closing credits. On October 15th they used two songs from one of Kiss’ Tokyo concerts, March 1977, to open and two for the show’s ending (“Firehouse” and “Making Love”). On Friday 16th October they closed the show with playbacks of “I Was Made For Loving You” and “Charisma”.

Irreverently known internally as the “Don’t Drink The Water Tour.” While south of the border the band were interviewed by Jimmy Forson. Oddly, for their performance, the band was incongruously dressed in their “Elder” outfits, and lip-synched “Charisma” (which the band chose over the recommended “Talk to Me”) and “I Was Made For Lovin’ You,” rather than perform anything from the then-forthcoming album. While those tracks had been popular in Mexico — the “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” 7″ single had sold 252,803 copies in that country by September 1981, plus an additional 121,354 copies of the 12″ backed with “Charisma” — it doesn’t really explain why the band ignored “The Elder,” even if it certainly helps explain the song selection.
