On 5. November 1981, Kiss’ ninth studio album, “(Music from) The Elder”, was released in Japan, with the subtitle, “Great Decisive Battle Of The Underworld”, and a paper sleeve with individual member shots and a “faux obi” was placed over the cover. A very nice, colorful touch that makes the Japanese version a very desirable item. The album was released with a gatefold jacket, with a picture of a large Medieval-looking table in the center. The mix had elements not as audible as on the international version being present along with the originally intended track order. The album excludes the “Escape From The Island” instrumental which was included on the Japanese version of “Kiss Killers” the following year.

The worldwide official release was 10. November, 1981.
