On 30. April 1974, Kiss did a photo session with Eric Stephen Jacobs in New York before getting facials at the Georgette Klinger Salon, photographed by Waring Abbott.

Bob Merlis, Publicity Manger, Warner Bros. Records, New York City:
“Publicity-wise the most notable thing we did was take the band to the Georgette Klinger salon in New York City — which is one of these high-end places for society ladies—to get a facial. We had Kiss get facials and did a photo session with them with towels on their faces, which was a way to preserve their mystique. That was a fun stunt and the media picked up on those images.”

Stan Cornyn:
“Bob Merlis, a publicist in our New York office, was handling Kiss’s first New York show. Nobody wanted to show the gentlemen’s real faces. He took them to Georgette Klinger, a woman’s makeup salon. They were interviewed with steaming towels over their faces. It was quite an attention-getter.”
