On 28. October 1982, Kiss held a press conference at Francis Ford Coppola’s Zoetrope Studios to discuss their “Creatures Of The Night” album and tour, and also shot their “I Love It Loud” music video while in Hollywood, California.

“Kiss staged a press conference on a Hollywood sound stage in October, announcing the upcoming album and tour, their first in the United States since 1979. Hundreds of reporters and guests showed up, but press coverage was minimal except in the usual rock rags. Gene’s idea was to have Vincent Price do the intro and act as emcee for the event, but Paul nixed this as being to hokey.”

Paul Stanley/Creatures Press Conference:
“We’re going to be going out and blowing more bombs, be louder than ever, do the show everybody expects from us. This new tour is timed with our 10th anniversary and with a new album. This album seemed really ideal to go out with on tour because pretty much it’s the ballsiest thing out there, so it’s ideal for playing live.”

Gene Simmons/Creatures Press Conference:
“I say, the hell with bad times. We’re going to go out on tour whether or not the times are good or bad. And f**k the bad times.”

Editor/16 Magazine, February, 1983:
“It was a balmy fall day in Hollywood, California when Kiss held the press conference that coincided with the release of their Creatures of the Night LP and began their 82-83 worldwide tour. The guys had been away for awhile (since their Elder LP) and by the look on their faces they were ready to get back on the road to greet their fans. Zany as ever, Eric Carr, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Ace Frehley were as mesmerized with the dozens of photographers as they were with Kiss! Uh oh! Could this fleeting moment of discomfort have happened at the same time the band was asked about Ace’s status as a member of Kiss? The group insisted that Ace was still with them, he’s on the new album and on the road! But no one was willing to say how long Ace would stay on. Rumour has it that Ace is thinking of going solo!”
