Record dates:
19. October, 1982: Band and performance footage videotaped.
20. October, 1982: Concept footage shot with additional special effects shots.
21. October, 1982: The opening exterior scene captured.

Kiss is on stage performing the song while teenagers, watching them perform on television, are being hypnotized (or inspired) by their performance. As the song progresses, the father’s newspaper catches fire, the telephone melts, a teacup explodes, stuff pours out of the refrigerator behind the mother (who just stares at the mess) and a large crack appears in the wall near the television. Howard Marks, Kiss’ business manager from 1976 to 1988, stars as the father in the video.

Premiere date: November 1982.

Paul Stanley:
“Looking back at it, I don’t really like the video. It’s sterile to me. I didn’t think we did that kind of shtick very well, the whole premise and story line, and I think it was more an attempt to do a contemporary, competitive MTV video. We were still growing out of The Elder and the costumes really looked a little safe and the hair was still growing back. There’s nothing menacing about it. Gene certainly didn’t look menacing. We all look like we just came from the barber. It was really us with the glowing eyes, not mannequins. I always laugh when I see the end of the video with the glowing eyes. Eric hated the way he looked because his were too low on his face. Like a lot of other things that would always eat Eric up about either himself or situations. I remember he would laugh about it, but he hated the way he looked at the end of the video.”
