On 1. December 1982, Kiss lip-synced to “I Love It Loud” for the German TV show ‘Frank Zanders Vorsicht Music’, while in Munich, West Germany, on the “Creatures Of The Night” European press tour. This was Ace’s last appearance with Kiss until 1996. The song was broadcasted on the German TV station ZDF on 13. December 1982.

While Ace was on the promotional tour he had in fact left the band in June, and Vinnie Vincent had been hired in the band in September.

Ace reluctantly agreed to do the tour for the benefit of the other band members. It was a very awkward promotional tour for many of the members in the band. “Ace was just fulfilling obligations,” Eric said in 1990. “We didn’t want fans to know that something was going on. This is just my point of view on this. You’re talking about the legal stuff with the record company and THAT I wasn’t involved in. Ace was basically not a part of CREATURES. When he played in the video for I Love It Loud, from what I remember I don’t think he even wanted to do it. It was uncomfortable having him do it, and I’m sure he felt uncomfortable because he didn’t feel like he was a part of anything. He was kinda, ‘Okay, I guess I have to do this… .”’ It was a promotional tour that led to Ace lip-synching the new songs on European television shows and mouthing words and fake-playing to songs that he was not anywhere close to being involved with. Also, to many fans and press members alike, Ace looked as he was in a very delicate, almost sickly, condition during these press conferences—nothing like the man whose crackling laughter would usually break up the crowd during such past interview sessions, nor like the man who made the other band members sweat as he tore up the set on the TOMORROW SHOW in 1979. To counteract such obvious evidence that Ace was in no position to perform with the others, his car accident from April was suddenly played up as a deciding factor in replacing Ace “for the tour.”
