Kiss appear on their first compilation album, “Hard Goods”

On 29. May, 1974, Warner Bros. released “Hard Goods”, marking Kiss’ first appearance on a compilation album. The double LP featured “Strutter” from their self-titled debut album as the opening track on side three.

Released in the United States as part of Warner Bros.’ mail-order “Loss Leaders” series, “Hard Goods” carried the catalogue number PRO 583. It brought Kiss together with artists including Deep Purple, Frank Zappa, the Doobie Brothers, Todd Rundgren, and Neil Young with Graham Nash.

The release date was documented in Warner Bros.’ own newsletter, “Circular”, dated 1. July, 1974. On page five, “Hard Goods” is listed under the album releases for May 29.
