On 4. September, 1980, Kiss appeared at the British Academy of Film & Television Arts at 195 Piccadilly in London for a press conference, photo session and promotional interviews. The visit at BAFTA came as the band prepared for the British leg of the “Unmasked” tour and marked Eric Carr’s first promotional appearance in the United Kingdom as a member of Kiss.
The band had arrived in London following concerts in Italy and was photographed at Heathrow Airport earlier that day. Promotional footage was filmed after the press conference, capturing Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Eric Carr discussing the new album, the tour and the band’s spectacular stage production.
Kiss played the first British concert of the tour the following night at Bingley Hall in Stafford. Shows in Deeside and two nights at Wembley Arena followed before the tour continued through continental Europe.
