On 23. December, 1982*, Kiss did the “Creatures of the Night” tour dress rehearsal and photo session at The Studios, Las Colinas, Irving, Texas, with photographers Sam Emerson and Bernard Vidal. This was Vinnie Vincent’s first photo session with Kiss after being hired as the new guitarist after Ace Frehley had left the band. Rehearsals had started right after Kiss was awarded $520,000 in U.S. District Court as a result of a breach of contract suit against Phonogram International B.V. on 13. December, 1982.
Vinnie wore Ace’s original early 1974/75 lightning bolt boots, with the lightning bolts blacked out and a silver diamond design sewn onto the knees. He also wore these for the official Creatures photo session for the tourbook.
