On 8. February 1975, Kiss returned to Electric Lady Studios, New York City, to record “Dressed To Kill” with Neil Bogart as producer. The album was engineered and mixed by Dave Wittman and George Lopez. “Dressed To Kill,” originally intended to be called “Kiss at Midnight” (Gooch, Suhs – Kiss Alive Forever).

Paul Stanley:
“On “Dressed To Kill” Ace was playing out of a cardboard box. He had this amp that he made that was in a cardboard box.”
– “Kiss behind the Mask”, p.233.

Ace Frehley:
“I recently listened to that album again. I hadnt listened to it in a long time, and I listened to the cd. There was alot of energy on that record. I was real happy with alot of the solos I did. It shows growth from the first record [Laughs]. Probably a four”.

“Getaway” was just one of those forgotten tunes. Peter sang lead on that. I wasn’t singing lead at the time. I was too afraid. I was too shy to sing. I didn’t think I could do it.”
– “Kiss behind the Mask”, p.238.

Bill Aucoin:
“Neil Bogart produced “Dressed To Kill” because we couldn’t afford a producer. It was a way to cut costs.”
