This event seems to have gone ahead with Kiss being explicitly mentioned in a George T. Simon article in the Dec. 14 edition of Billboard:
“At the October membership get-together of the New York chapter of the Recording Academy (NARAS), a visitor attending his first such meeting in several years murmured loudly enough for those nearby to hear, “is this really a NARAS meeting?” Prodded further by his neighborly eavesdroppers, he intimated that he’s always thought these were rather stodgy affairs. “But now what do I see? Four members of Kiss preening away, and a guy in a dress and, I presume, wearing a wig (Wayne County), camping and pouting his way to Queendom come”
– Billboard, 12/14/1974

The Oct. 19 issue of Billboard noted that this NARAS discussion (“Superstar or Superstud” The visual versus the musical) was going to be held at CBS Recording Studio B on Oct. 15. In the Oct. 26 issue it was reported as taking place on Oct. 14 with topics such as “Superstar vs. Superstud And Homosexuality in music — Is it a turn-on or a turn-off and “Theatrics in Music” on Oct. 14 at Columbia Recording Studio B. Quite a few pictures of the band, with Wayne Country, exist and have been printed in the press.
