On 11. April, 1976, at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, Fort Wayne, IN, Kiss started the touring cycle for their new album “Destroyer”. Visually, there was not much changed from the “Alive!” tour. Costumes and staging remained the same, though musically the band had started to transition the set in favour of material from “Destroyer”. The North American tour ended 28. April 1976 at the Winnipeg Arena, Manitoba, Canada, before doing their first European tour 13. May – 6. June, 1976. They then toured USA, 3. July 1976, to 12. September 1976, before entering the studio to record “Rock and Roll Over”.
At the time of the European leg of the tour they wore the “Alive!” costumes and had the “Alive!” stage show. The tour was referred to under the headline “Kiss tour”, not “Alive! Tour” or “Destroyer Tour”. The North American leg from July was called “The Spirit of ’76/Destroyer”, when they started using the “Destroyer” costumes.
